MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling, is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) or Percutaneous Collagen Induction (PCI). It uses a series of fine needles which is inserted into the skin hundreds to thousands of times per minute. This triggers the skin’s natural wound healing cascade to remodel skin, which includes new collagen and elastin. This also releases the connective tissue associated with scars.
The SkinPen® Microneedling System by Crown Aesthetics is the first FDA-cleared device clinically proven to improve the appearance of wrinkles of the neck and facial acne scars for people aged 22 and above.
SkinPen® has been clinically proven to fight the appearance of neck wrinkles and reduce the appearance of acne scars. According to Crown Aesthetics, 90% of subjects in their clinical trials recommend this microneedling treatment to their friends and family. This is a minimally invasive procedure performed in-office with little to no downtime. As the first FDA-cleared microneedling device, SkinPen® sets the industry standard for safety.

What does Microneedling using the SkinPen® do?

  • Inflammation:  SkinPen’s microneedles penetrate the skin’s surface, triggering a natural immune response to disinfect, remove debris, increase blood flow, and activate the creation of new tissue.
  • Proliferation: The micro-channels or tiny holes created by microneedling are rebuilt with new granulation cells that include collagen proteins. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.
  • Remodeling: New dermal tissues form, rich in collagen and elastin proteins. These proteins improve skin quality, visibly reducing facial acne scars and neck wrinkles, leaving skin more smooth, radiant, and younger-looking.
